Just back from Hawaii

Liz and I went to Hawaii on vacation this year.  Hawaii is always a fun place to go.  This year we went to Kona (on the big island of Hawaii) and then to Waikiki beach on Oahu. 

Kona was different this year, as they were busy setting up for the Ironman Triathlon.  We left on Wednesday, the Ironman was on the following Saturday.  It was very interesting to see all the athletes training, especially the swimming.  We took a circle island tour, a good way to get to see the overall layout of things.  It stopped at the volcano National Park of course, but it also showed us a black sand beach, waterfalls, and agricultural areas. 

You know you are in Hawaii when you look out your hotel window and see this:

After Kona, we flew to Oahu and stayed in the Waikiki beach area.  We were just across the street from the beach.

The only thing bad about going to Hawaii is the jet lag after you get back.
