While we were at Gunnison we took a side trip to Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte(shown here in the distance)
Here is the town area of Mt. Crested Butte. Lots of expensive homes and condos
We also took a day hike at Gunnison. We climbed up a hill east of town above the college. The area is mostly desert.
But it affords an excellent view of the college and the town

The hill was mostly covered with sagebrush with a few of these small cactus.
